About CreatorTally

Straight creator-economy math — free, fast, and private.

Why we built this

Pricing a brand deal, comparing platforms, or sanity-checking an ad spend shouldn't mean guessing or digging through forum threads. CreatorTally puts the everyday creator-economy numbers — earnings, sponsorship rates, engagement, and ROI — in one place, in US dollars, with the real formulas behind each one instead of vague rules of thumb. It's built for both sides of the table: creators pricing their work, and marketers planning campaigns.

How we calculate

Every tool uses a transparent, published formula with editable defaults. The table below documents the exact math, plus the key rates and assumptions behind each category — the RPM/CPM bands, creator-fund and platform payout rates, fees, and the engagement-rate formula — so you can see precisely what each result represents and adjust it to your own numbers.

CalculatorCore formulaKey rates & assumptions
Earnings
YouTube Moneyad = views/1,000 × RPM; total = ad + sponsorship; yearly = ×12RPM is post-cut take-home ($/1k views). Typical $2–$8; finance/tech $10–$50+, gaming/entertainment $1–$3. YouTube keeps ~45% of ad revenue.
TikTok Moneycreator fund = views/1,000 × $0.025; total = fund + sponsorshipRewards-program payout default ~$0.02–$0.04 per 1k qualified views; varies by region, video length, and program. Brand deals dominate most TikTok income.
Instagram Earningsrate/post ≈ (followers/1,000) × $10 × engagement factor~$10 per 1,000 followers baseline, scaled by an engagement multiplier. Rates vary widely by niche, format (Reels vs. feed), and exclusivity.
Twitch Earningssubs×$2.50 + bits×$0.01 + adViews/1,000×$3.50~$2.50 net per Tier-1 sub (after Twitch's 50% split), $0.01 per bit, ~$3.50 ad CPM. Partner splits and Plus program can change the sub share.
Patreon Incomegross = members × avg pledge; net = gross − platform fee% − processingPlan fee 5/8/12% by tier; payment processing ~3–5% + per-transaction fee. Net is take-home before income tax.
Rates & pricing
CPMCPM = ad spend / impressions × 1,000Cost per 1,000 impressions; typical creator/display band ~$5–$15. Solve for spend or reach by rearranging.
Engagement RateER = (likes + comments) / followers × 100Benchmark zones: under 1% low, 1–3.5% solid, above 3.5% strong. Per-post by-follower method; reach-based ER will differ.
Sponsorship Raterate ≈ (followers/1,000) × platform CPM × engagement factor (low–high range)Per-platform base CPMs with an engagement multiplier produce a suggested low–high range. Usage rights, exclusivity, and deliverables shift the real number.
Growth & marketing
Affiliate Incomeearnings = clicks × conversion% × AOV × commission%; yearly = ×12Conversion rate and commission vary by program; AOV is average order value. Earnings assume steady monthly clicks.
ROASROAS = revenue / ad spend; profit = revenue×margin − spendBreak-even at 1× (or margin-adjusted). A "good" ROAS depends on your profit margin and target.
Newsletter Revenueopens = subs × open%; revenue/send = opens/1,000 × sponsor CPM; monthly = × sendsSponsorship priced on opens, not total list size. Newsletter sponsor CPMs commonly run higher than display.
Follower Growthprojected = current × (1 + g)^12; months to goal = ln(goal/current) / ln(1 + g)Compounds a constant monthly growth rate g. Real growth is lumpy — treat the projection as a trend, not a promise.

All figures are estimates

Every number CreatorTally produces is an educational estimate, not a guarantee or financial advice. RPM, CPM, creator-fund rates, platform fees, and sponsorship pricing swing widely by niche, audience geography, season, format, and the deal terms you negotiate. We ship sensible 2025–26 US defaults and make every one of them editable — always plug in your own real numbers (for example, your actual RPM from YouTube Studio) for the most realistic result, and don't treat any output as tax or accounting advice.

Sources & how we keep this accurate

Formulas and default rates come from published platform documentation and widely cited creator-economy reference data: official monetization help centers (YouTube Partner Program, TikTok rewards/creator programs, Twitch Partner/Affiliate, Patreon, Meta), creator-rate and benchmark reports, and standard marketing math for CPM, ROAS, and engagement rate. Each calculator carries its own cited sources and a review date. We review the formulas and rate bands periodically and welcome corrections via the contact page.
